Membership

Common Sense Society (CSS) promotes responsible liberty, the voluntary exchange of ideas, free enterprise, creative innovation, enduring art, and conservation of the natural world and our built heritage.

Membership with CSS includes opportunities for learning, friendship, and healthy debate where common sense prevails in addressing our shared concerns and optimism for the future of our country and shared civilization. Common Sense Society as an independent organization does not accept government funding, maintains its operations and creates opportunities from individual contributions and sponsorship. The below membership contributions apply to Hungarian citizens, residents of Hungary, and alumni of the Europa Fellowship.

Membership Benefits and Levels

Member: 80,000 HUF Annually / 40,000 HUF Semi-Annually

Student or Alumni Member: 60,000 HUF Annually / 30,000 HUF Semi-Annually

Full-time students below 26 years with a student I.D. are eligible for student membership.

Twin Membership: 120,000 HUF Annually / 60,000 HUF Semi-Annually

Twin membership is offered to one senior (35+) and one student (up to graduate level) member and is intended to enhance collaboration and mentorship between CSS members of different generations. More senior members are encouraged to support talented young individuals through this opportunity. 

Membership benefits for Regular, Student or Alumni, and Twin members (Annual) include:

• Special invitations to at least 10 annual CSS–HU events, receptions, and educational enrichment programs that provide access to a strong network of members, distinguished faculty and scholars, and philanthropists who are committed to the principles of liberty, prosperity, and beauty
• Membership reciprocity with CSS–US, CSS–NL and CSS–UK national branches
• Members-only discount to the 2023 CSS Conference and Gala
• Exclusive opportunities for using the beautiful CSS Andrássy Salon for meetings, community, and salon events
• A welcome gift package

Equites: 400,000 HUF Annually / 200,000 HUF Semi-Annually

In addition to all member benefits, a CSS Equites will receive:

• Semi-annual State of the Society report from the director of CSS–HU
• CSS Equites member exclusive gift

Benefactor: 1,500,000 HUF Annually / 750,000 HUF Semi-Annually

In addition to all member and Equites benefits, a CSS Benefactor will receive:

• An invitation for you and a guest to attend an annual dinner and meeting with the President and C.E.O. of Common Sense Society and vice president of CSS–HU
• Named sponsorship opportunities for special events and academic programs organized by CSS–HU
• Special recognition at CSS–HU events
• CSS Benefactor member exclusive gift

Patron: 25,000 U.S.D. Annually

In addition to all member and Benefactor benefits, a CSS Patron will receive:

• An invitation to attend the annual Council of Trustees dinner of Common Sense Society in the United States
• Named sponsorship opportunities for special events and academic programs organized by CSS
• A dedicated staff liaison to connect you with CSS opportunities and special events
• Special recognition at the CSS headquarters and at CSS–HU events
• CSS Patron member exclusive gift
